Climate change is becoming a topical issue the world over due to the changes in weather patterns. Trees clean our air by sucking up carbon dioxide and give us oxygen which makes us survive without oxygen thee would be not any humans on earth. They hold soil in place thereby stoppimg erosion and make the days cool hot days. Without the trees erosion washes away farms making arable land being reduced bit by bit.
Planting trees brings people close to each other. Tree planting as a community action in Africa is cooling temperatures and restoring hope, one sapling at a time. Schools in Zimbabwe run these events as they observe tree planting days. Learners dig holes in groups so that it makes it easier for them and can dig many holes. They then put manure and rich soils in the holes then thereafter plant trees. On a daily basis during the first wekk they water the saplings after that theu awter once a week and watch them grow. Chitungwiza came up with an initiative by planting 1,000 trees since 2023, cutting local heat by 2 degreeAs. Growth happens step by step in a careful planned manner. Start small invite friends and soon forests will return thus countering deforestation. In Shona, we say: "Muti unobudirwa, asi unobva kune vanhu vanozvichengeta." (A tree is grown, but it comes from people who care for it.) This reminds us action starts at home.
