We believe that leadership isn't confined to boardrooms; it thrives in the heart of our rural communities. We recently partnered with Save Our Environment Trust and rural women to bridge the gap between hard work and financial sustainability.
The Project began with giving the women access to the tools they needed. We trained them in public bookkeeping, moving from a community based Informal record keeping system to an officially created bookkeeping system so that the community ladies could use their community projects We also delved into Real Business being ISL (Internal Savings and Lending) Schemes. We encouraged them to establish community led lending circles that provide capital without the burden of traditional high interest debt from micro finance companies and banks.
The core of this training wasn't just about maths; it was about mindset.
"Success starts with mindset."
By mastering bookkeeping and ISL schemes, these women shifted their perspective from seeing themselves as just women working in gardems to seeing themselves as Financial Leaders and Project Managers. This shift in identity marks the cornerstone of our programs which are all aimed at creating lasting social impact.
When a woman in a rural community masters her finances, the "multiplier effect" takes over:
Family Stability:
Better management of household income and school fees.
Community Growth:
Increased circulation of capital within the village.
Mentorship:
These trained women now serve as leaders, teaching others the same skills.
IMPACT
Over 60 women were trained
